This past weekend Dyanmic Training & Rehabilitation athlete Ohenewa Akuffo (ohenewa.com) competed in the world cup in China!
Here is an email update from Ohenewa:
I just finished wrestling the 2010 World Cup held in China (March 27-28)… This is the only team tournament we have in our sport. We normally wrestle for individual results but this tournament is different. This year’s tournaments was the 8 top countries in the World from the World Championships results dual meet style of wrestling meaning country against country.
We had Russia, China and Japan on our side of the bracket. As a country we finished 7th out 8 countries. Tough tournament for our team but we wrestled well. I had 4 matches; I lost my first two matches to Russia and China with a pin. One mistake cost me the first two matches but I did not let that stop me. My next match was against Japan (5 time world champion and bronze medalist at the 2008 Olympics), I won that match 1-0, 1-0. My last match was against Azerbaijan, (She was 7th at the 2009 World Championships) It was a good battle I won that match 3-0, 1-0. Overall it was a good day on the job…
Ohenewa has been working close with Adam Bogar since the summer and will allow Dynamic Training & Rehabilitation and Bogar Performance (Rehabilitation/Therapy Systems) to keep her healthly and strong during her training for London 2012.
Keep posted to this blog for constant updates on Ohenewa's training scheduale and competition dates.
